Job Description
Leading Carrickfergus based Generator Installation & Maintenance Provider is looking for an individual to fill the role of a Diesel Generator Engineer to deliver projects across Northern Ireland. With a vast number of contracts managed in different sectors, there is plenty of room for progression and opportunities within the business.
The successful candidate will have a background either from the Electrical Industry , Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or Diesel Fitting Industry . Previous experience from the Diesel Generator Industry is advantageous but not essential.
Responsibilities of the Role
- Reporting to the Operations Manager / Service Manager you will be tasked with providing maintenance, installation, diagnosis and repair across a range of diesel generator sets in Northern Ireland
- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance
- Carry out diagnostic, testing, and remedial works on generators and associated equipment
- Provide call out cover for generator breakdowns on a rota based system
- Projecting spares requirements for upcoming and planned work
- Complete load bank testing of customer generator sets (electrical bias)
- Complete annual servicing and various engine repairs (mechanical bias)
- Ensure all health and safety, quality and environmental requirements are being complied with.
Qualifications Required
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Installation, or equivalent (electrical bias)
- IEE 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (electrical bias)
- NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent (mechanical bias)
- Driving Licence
Desirable Attributes
- Previous experience working with diesel generators / generator systems
- Previous experience fault finding / commissioning diesel generator systems
- Previous experience in control panel building
- Previous experience working with various engines such as; Perkins, Caterpillar, MTU, Volvo, Mitsubishi, Cummins
- Previous experience in the installation and of modification of fuel systems / exhaust systems
