Insurance Solution Architect
💰 £550-575/day (Inside IR35) | 📅 12-Month Contract
📍 Milton Keynes (2 days onsite)
Our client is seeking an experienced Insurance Solution Architect to support large-scale banking and insurance integration initiatives within a complex enterprise landscape. As an Insurance Solution Architect, you will lead the design and governance of end-to-end enterprise solutions across banking and insurance domains. You’ll be responsible for translating business requirements into scalable architecture designs, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, integration patterns, and long-term architecture strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and govern end-to-end solution architectures across banking and insurance platforms
- Translate business and functional requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Define logical architecture components, integrations, interfaces, and system interactions
- Support third-party integrations across enterprise banking ecosystems
- Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture principles and governance standards
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure technical designs align with approved architecture
- Conduct architecture reviews and peer reviews to ensure architectural integrity and compliance
- Support decommissioning, archival, and modernisation initiatives across legacy environments
- Act as a trusted architecture advisor to CIO and technology leadership functions
- Balance short-term business objectives with long-term architecture strategy and transformation goals
Required Skills & Experience
- Significant experience working as a Solution Architect within complex financial services environments
- Strong understanding of insurance integrations within banking landscapes
- Experience designing scalable enterprise solutions across applications, integrations, and platforms
- Strong experience working with third-party integrations and enterprise system interoperability
- Experience creating practical and delivery-focused architectures aligned with enterprise IT standards
- Strong understanding of architecture governance and solution assurance processes
- Experience working with engineering teams to align implementation with enterprise architecture
- Knowledge of microservices, API integration patterns, and cloud concepts
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capability
- Ability to operate independently within fast-paced transformation environments
- Strong ownership, initiative, and delivery-focused mindset
- Evidence of thought leadership and architecture governance experience
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of:
- BIAN
- TOGAF
- ArchiMate
- C4 modelling
- Experience with architecture tooling such as Avolution Abacus
- Familiarity with cloud concepts including AWS
- Exposure to large-scale banking transformation programmes
- Experience within global banking or enterprise insurance environments
