This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a passion for innovation and sustainability to play a key role in the development of cutting-edge engine technology.

The Role

As a Development Engineer, you will contribute to new product development, technology integration, and the improvement of existing platforms. You will be part of a team driving engineering excellence and innovation across engine systems development.

  • Conduct FMEA and risk assessments to determine design and validation needs
  • Plan, perform, and analyse component and system tests
  • Facilitate and participate in design reviews
  • Investigate and resolve production, test, and field issues — developing both immediate containment and long-term solutions
  • Collaborate with suppliers, global manufacturing teams, and engineering stakeholders

About You

Essential Requirements:

  • HNC or degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering (or equivalent practical experience)
  • At least 3 years of development engineering experience
  • Technical knowledge of core engine systems (e.g. rotating systems, valvetrain, castings, lubrication, cooling, or breather systems)
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and mechanical validation
  • Self-driven with strong planning and project delivery skills
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities

Desirable:

  • Experience with diesel or alternative fuel engine platforms
  • Familiarity with FMEA, DVP&R, and 8D problem-solving
  • Experience with Teamcenter or other data management systems
  • Exposure to APQP processes
  • Creo or other CAD design experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 tools

What’s on Offer

  • A dynamic and supportive engineering environment
  • Involvement in global product development projects
  • Opportunities for personal and professional development
  • Flexible working options considered (role is primarily office-based)
