Financial Controller ( ACA/ACCA/CIMA)

Reporting to the Finance Director. Turnover is circa £100k. My client is looking for someone available immediately and will consider offering this role on a 6/9/12 month FTC or permanent basis. We’re looking for a broad range of financial and management accounting experience and the ability to create, implement and document processes for monthly reporting.
Key targets for the year include:
Financial Accounts
- Finalisation of statutory accounts and audit packs
- Filing of statutory accounts for SPVs, Group, various management companies and contracting arm
- Responding to audit queries
- Driving forward the rollout of the COINS ERP system in place of current Quickbooks Finance system (currently part-implemented).
- Process VAT and CIS returns
Management Accounts
- Quarterly update of site profitability appraisals.
- Ad hoc profitability appraisals for scenario modelling
- Creation and maintenance of consolidated business plan from individual site appraisals
Banking
- Assist with financing / refinancing of a number of development sites.
- Monitor banking covenants
- Process BACS and same-day payments
Company secretarial
- Creation of new SPV’s for site purchases
- Maintenance of corporate filings at companies house
- Insurance renewals
- Consider alternative pension providers, salary sacrifice etc to improve the benefits offering here without increasing cost.
This will be a hands-on role, it’s a small team which processes weekly payments for a complicated business with turnover that can hit £100m+, does in-house payroll for c70 employees, and supports an opportunistic land team hungry for new sites & entrepreneurial owners who are not afraid to pivot to unlock sites and cash with alternative strategies such as building rental portfolios (residential and commercial), bulk sales, overseas sales and more.
